Affleck, Garner divorce looks like a done deal now
After more than two years of back-and-forth maneuvering, Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck have each filed papers to end their marriage. This time, the divorce appears to be final, if amicable.
Each cited irreconcilable differences in papers filed late Thursday in Los Angeles. They have each asked for joint custody of their three children, who range in age from 5 to 11.
The couple announced they were separating in June 2015 after 10 years of marriage.
“We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children,” Garner and Affleck said in a joint statement Thursday. “This will be our only comment on this private, family matter.”
Affleck, a two-time Oscar winner, announced last month he recently completed treatment for alcohol addiction.
Since their separation, the two have spent a lot of time together, mostly focusing on caring for their children. They were living on the same property. Garner supported Affleck through rehab and earlier this year reportedly called off the divorce proceedings. But sources told E! News that the stops and starts in the divorce proceedings never indicated a chance at reconciliation, but reflected Affleck and Garner working out their post-marital relationship.
Baldwin: Don’t criticize Kendall for awful Pepsi ad
Alec Baldwin has known Kendall Jenner since she was a child through his daughter Ireland. And now he’s taken to social media to insist the public and the media have unfairly excoriated her for starring in a Pepsi
ad that was universally condemned for trivializing such issues as racism and police violence.
In a series of tweets, Baldwin wrote: “Don’t blame Kendall Jenner for that spot. Kendall is still a very young, inexperienced woman in an awful business. Blame her management.”
The Pepsi commercial featured supermodel Kendall joining a group of young, attractive people protesting a generic cause and breaking an impasse with police by offering a stern-looking officer a Pepsi.
Pepsi pulled the ad after it was quickly condemned online. Kendall has kept a low profile since the debacle.
But Baldwin feels the real fault lies with Kendall’s management — i.e., her mother, Kris Jenner.
And while Twitter users seemed happy to criticize Kris, few were willing to let “inexperienced” Kendall off the hook.
As one tweet noted, “Inexperienced? That family doesn’t go to the bathroom without alerting the media first.”
