‘America’s Got Talent’ embarks on 12th season

SUNDAY >> Laurence Fishburne and Joe Mantegna host the “National Memorial Day Concert” from the U.S. Capitol’s West Lawn. The annual salute to America’s military heroes will feature performances by Renée Fleming, Vanessa Williams, Scotty McCreery and others. 8 p.m., PBS.
MONDAY >> “America: Promised Land” is a timely two-day, four-part non-fiction series. It taps into the emotional journey of immigrants coming to these shores and recounts how they helped create the cultural fabric of the nation. 8 p.m., History Channel.
Shonda meets Shakespeare in “Still StarCrossed.” It’s a drama from executive producer Shonda Rhimes that begins in the wake of Romeo and Juliet’s tragic deaths. The Montague and Capulet rivalry is escalating and there’s mayhem in Verona. 10 p.m., ABC.
TUESDAY >> As “Animal Kingdom” returns for its second season, the Cody crime clan is in the midst of a high-adrenaline heist. But when things don’t go as planned, the family dynamics become more fractured than ever. 9 p.m., TNT.
And you thought TV had enough dance competitions. Nope. Jennifer Lopez, Derek Hough and NE-YO are our judges for “World of Dance,” a new series that brings elite contestants together to compete in “epic battles of artistry, precision and athleticism.” 10 p.m., NBC.
WEDNESDAY >> “The Carmichael Show” returns for a new season with backto-back episodes and, as usual, the provocative sitcom isn’t shying away from hot-button issues. The opener — “Yes Means Yes” — delves into a family debate about sexual assault. 9 p.m., NBC.
THURSDAY >> Hoop dreams are on the line as the NBA Finals get under way. The two teams that survived three rounds of playoffs meet in a best-of-seven series. Mike Breen, Jeff Van Gundy and Mark Jackson call the action. 6 p.m., ABC (9 p.m., ET).
Whew. The 29th season of “The Amazing Race” calls it a wrap as the remaining globetrotters close in on the finish line and a chance to capture $1 million. What they’ll really need are a good massage and a very long nap. 10 p.m., CBS.
FRIDAY >> Apparently, people go missing at an eerily high rate in Alaska, where citizens often vanish into the wilderness without a trace. Now we have a new true-crime series — “Alaska Homicide” — to delve into some of these cases. 10 p.m., Discovery.
SATURDAY >> In the TV film “Destination Wedding,” a woman (Alexa PenaVega) plans a big ceremony for her sister in Acapulco and must work alongside the best man, who just happens to be her ex-boyfriend. Naturally, complications arise. 9 p.m., Hallmark.
