Courtney Beaudin, Foothill softball: Was a key contributor in a 6-2 victory over James Logan in the NCS Division I championship, going 2 for 2 with a two-run home run in the third inning. Jett Charvet, Heritage track and field: Charvet scored an upset victory in the 800-meter race at the CIF state championships with a time of 1:51.07. Jorge Estrella, Andrew Hill track and field: Took sixth in the 1,600 at the state track finals, running the race in 4:12.31. Ryan Fleming and Josh White, Monte Vista baseball: Combined to pitch a complete game shutout in a 1-0 victory over Heritage in the North Coast Section Division 1 semifinal game. Marnae Glover, Tierra Robinson-Jones, Lauryn Moore and Jasmine Powell, Bishop O’Dowd track and field: They took first in the 1,600 relay at the CIF state championships in 3:46.33, helping Bishop O’Dowd finish fourth in the team standings. Robinson-Jones also placed second in the 400. Competing from Lane 8, she ran the race in 53.24 seconds, the top time in the North Coast Section this season and second fasted among California runners.
Jason Gomez, Westmont track and field: Posted a time of 1:52.22 in the 800 at the CIF state track and field championships to place fourth. Kali Hatcher, St. Mary’s-Berkeley track and field: Jumped 41-01 1/4 to finish second in the triple jump and 18-11 1/4 to take sixth in the long jump at the CIF state meet. Hudson Hennigh, St. Joseph Notre Dame baseball: Went 1 for 2 with two RBIs and two walks in a 4-1 win over St. Patrick-St. Vincent in the NCS Division 4 championship game. Cullen Kafka, De La Salle baseball: The Oregon-committed Kafka struck out eight over six innings of work in a 4-3 win over Monte Vista in the NCS Division 1 championship game. Sanjay Kettels, St. Mary’s-Berkeley track and field: Kettels took first in the long jump event at the CIF state championships with a distance of 24-3 3/4. Allanah Lee, Castro Valley track and field: Finished third in the triple jump at the CIF state meet in 40-11.50
Jack Murphy, Monte Vista baseball: With two outs in the bottom of the 7th, Murphy hit a game-tying home run in an eventual 4-3 loss to De La Salle in the NCS Division 1 championship game.
Kaylah Robinson, El Cerrito track and field: Placed second in the 100 hurdles at the state track finals in a windaided 12.98. Only state champion Tara Davis of Agoura (wind-aided 12.83 last weekend) has run faster among California runners this season. Alex Scales, Bellarmine College Prep track and field: Finished second in the 800 at the state track and field finals with a time of 1:51.56. Alexis Surrell, Newark Memorial track and field: Ran 54.23 in the 400 at the CIF track and field finals to finish fifth. Brian Tan, Arroyo baseball: Went 2 for 3 with a run-scoring double and scored a run in a 6-4 win over Casa Grande in the NCS Division II championship final. Cooper Teare, St. Joseph Notre Dame track and field: The 2016 state champion in the 3,200 finished third in the event last weekend at the CIF meet, running 8:55.93.
Julia Wang, Las Lomas track and field: Vaulted 12-6 to finish tied for seventh in the pole vault at the CIF track championships. Alex Williams, Redwood Christian baseball: Williams, a Stanford commit, tossed a complete game with 10 strikeouts in a 4-1 victory over Athenian in the NCS Division V championship game. Williams finished the season by going 14-0 with a 0.36 ERA and 145 strikeouts.
