Now it’s the Raiders’ turn to throw Oakland a party

-

Darting here and there …

OK, Raiders, your turn to throw Oakland a grand going-away party. Pressure’s on even more so now to at least give your fans something to remember.

San Francisco might be getting the Warriors in a few years, but it will never get the majesty of Lake Merritt on a gorgeous, celebratory June afternoon.

Draymond Green has been suspended by the FCC for the next title celebration while trying to get Bob Myers some #$%#%# credit. LeBron James should know better than to get in a digital trash-talk war with Green. He won’t even get one win that way.

Sure sign LeBron can’t dish it off the court: He played the “she” card. That’s the best he’s got?

We have been remiss in thanking Oklahoma City profusely for “The Cupcake.” Indescribably delicious.

Leave it to Stephen Curry: Coolest parade sunglasses. Particularly effective on rally stage, when they reflected the massive assembled crowd in a golden hue.

You couldn’t mistake those white T-shirts worn by impending free agents Andre Iguodala and Shaun Livingston at the rally as a subtle message. Could have been worse. They could have been emblazoned “Your Team Name Here.”

We believe Iguodala will return. He’s still too important, as everyone saw in Game 7. Livingston is dicier, but what a class dude and able sub that guy has been for three seasons. Let’s hope so.

JaVale McGee, it was fun while it lasted, but you probably will command too stiff a price. And then there’s Damian Jones, who needs to start playing instead of just watching.

David West might be another story, if he’s willing for a re-up instead of retirement. The Warriors can’t lose two Wests in the same offseason, can they?

Guess Mo Speights didn’t do the trick. Now Jerry West. The Clippers have no shame.

West is a tough loss for the Warriors’ braintrust, but in a way, they have graduated from requiring his incredible basketball wisdom. You would hope they can fly on their own now.

We’ll never forget our phone conversation with The Logo a couple of years ago about a possible Kevin Love-Klay Thompson trade. West said flatly he would quit if it came to pass. Fortunately, neither happened.

Best line of the entire rally from G.M. Bob Myers: “Mike (Brown), you didn’t lose any games, did you? Steve (Kerr), you lost one. We’ve got a decision to make.”

Don’t think the Warriors didn’t get an emotional bump from Kerr’s Game 2 return in the Finals. They might have won anyway, but now nobody ever has to play the “what if” game.

Best thing about Dance Mom Robin Schreiber: She has been a Warriors season-ticket holder for 28 years. She might have been working those moves for Mookie Blaylock for all we know and we just didn’t notice.

Longtime Warriors fans have our utmost respect. Yes, they reveled in 16 postseason wins. But they were there in 200001, too, which produced 17 wins … in the regular season.

McGregor-Mayweather won’t be getting our C note for the UFC title: Ultimate Farce Championship.

It’s perfectly understandable the A’s want some fresh approaches to their rebuild. But longtime pitching coach Curt Young deserved better for his years of outstanding service than an in-season firing. It just looks … awful.

The worst aftermath of a move like the Young dismissal is that everybody starts looking over their shoulder, including players. Trust is so crucial to a winning organization. See: Warriors.

As for the Giants, only two words seem to fit: train wreck. Some of it is explainable, but much of it is baffling. You can’t help but wonder if sticking it out is a good thing for Bruce Bochy’s health.

Finally, could this be the worst combined Giants/A’s baseball season in Bay Area history? Well, in 1979, the Giants lost 91 and the A’s lost 108. Could be stiff challenge to get to 199 losses, but secondworst all-time is very much within reach (185 in 1985). Play ball! Contact Carl Steward at csteward@ bayareanewsgroup.com.
