Golden Knights are no match for Oilers

Crosby ends goal drought, Penguins get past Sabres

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Connor McDavid each had two goals for the Edmonton Oilers in their 8-2 victory over the Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday night.

Oscar Klefbom, Patrick Maroon, Matt Benning and Mark Letestu also scored for the Oilers, who snapped a two-game skid.

Pierre-Edouard Bellemare and James Neal had the goals for the expansion Golden Knights, who have lost three of four.

Edmonton got off to a good start with a shorthande­d goal 6 minutes into the first period when Klefbom converted a 2-on-1 pass from Jujhar Khaira to beat Vegas goalie Maxime Lagace..

PENGUINS 5, SABRES 4 >> Sidney Crosby ended a long goal drought and assisted on Conor Sheary’s gamewinner 16 seconds into overtime as Pittsburgh beat Buffalo.

Crosby scored his sixth of the season, Sheary had a pair of goals and Patric Hornqvist added one for Pittsburgh. Phil Kessel got his eighth of the season and has goals in four straight games. Kessel, the team’s leading scorer, has at least one point in five straight games and 16 of 20 this season.

CANUCKS 3, KINGS 2 >> Sven Baertschi scored the tiebreakin­g goal on a power play early in the third period and Vancouver wrapped up a four-game road trip by sending Los Angeles to its third consecutiv­e loss.

JETS 4, COYOTES 1 >> Connor Hellebuyck made 32 saves and Winnipeg defeated Arizona for its second victory over the struggling Coyotes in four days. On a night when the Jets inducted Dale Hawerchuk into their Hall of Fame and lifted his No. 10 banner to the rafters, the home team easily handled the franchise that moved from Winnipeg to Arizona 21 years ago.

WILD 3, FLYERS 0 >> Devan Dubnyk posted his third straight shutout with 30 saves and Nino Niederreit­er scored 12 seconds into the game for Minnesota in a win against Philadelph­ia. Dubnyk’s third shutout of the season stretched his scoreless streak to 195:05, breaking his mark of 183:16 set last season for the longest in team history. PREDATORS 6, CAPITALS 3 >> Mattias Ekholm and Kevin Fiala each had a goal and an assist to lead Nashville past Washington for its fifth straight victory.

BLUE JACKETS 2, CANADIENS 1>> Zach Werenski scored 1:09 into overtime, lifting Columbus over Montreal. PANTHERS 4, STARS 3 >> Jonathan Huberdeau had two power-play goals and Vincent Trocheck scored the winner in a shootout to lift Florida over Dallas.

KINGS DEAL CAMMALLERI TO OILERS FOR JOKINEN >> The Edmonton Oilers have acquired Mike Cammalleri from the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for Jussi Jokinen.

The 35-year-old Cammalleri is in his 15th season and had three goals and four assists in 15 games since joining the Kings as a free agent this summer. This will be Cammalleri’s third stint in Alberta. He played for the Calgary Flames twice in 2008-09, and again from 2011 to 2014.

COYOTES TRADE GOALIE DOMINGUE TO LIGHTNING >> The Coyotes have traded goalie Louis Domingue to the Tampa Bay Lightning for forward Tye McGinn and goalie Michael Leighton.
