Kristine Anigwe had 30 points and 17 rebounds as No. 24 Cal overcame Washington State 66-60 on Sunday.

Anigwe tied the game at 60 with a free throw with 1:40 remaining and gave the host Golden Bears the lead on a jumper with 28 seconds left. Asha Thomas was fouled after a steal and added two free throws with 13 seconds left and two more with six seconds remaining.

Cal (13-4, 4-2 Pac-12) picked up its third straight conference win, the program’s longest Pac-12 winning streak in the last three seasons. Borislava Hristova scored 25 points for the Cougars (8-10, 1-5), who have lost five of their last six.

STANFORD 71, WASHINGTON 45 >> Alanna Smith scored 19 points with 8-for-13 shooting and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the Cardinal to a lopsided victory over the Huskies.

Brittany McPhee added 15 points and DiJonai Carrington had 11 for the Cardinal (11-7, 5-1 Pac-12), which got 16 assists on its 25 baskets and controlled the glass 40-23. Kaylee Johnson got 12 of those rebounds for Stanford.

Washington hit just 17 of its 58 shots from the field (29 percent) and finished with its fewest points in a game this season.

Early in the first quarter, Amber Melgoza got a layup to give the Huskies their only lead of the game, 6-4, but Stanford quickly took it back. Johnson hit a jumper to tie it up and spark a quick 7-0 burst and the Cardinal led the rest of the way.

A pair of free throws from McPhee in the third quarter followed by Carrington’s 3-pointer pushed Stanford’s advantage to 40-27 and the margin stayed in double figures the rest of the way.

Jenna Moser led Washington (6-11, 0-6) with 14 points.

TENNESSEE 86, SOUTH CAROLINA 70 >> Jaime Nared scored 19 points as the No. 6 Lady Vols bounced back from their first loss of the season and beat the No. 9 Gamecocks, who played without injured All-American A’ja Wilson.

VIRGINIA 68, NORTH CAROLINA STATE 51 >> Virginia’s lead was still 11, but North Carolina State was trying to rally and a sense of unease was growing at John Paul Jones Arena. There were eight minutes to play, and the Wolfpack were on an 11-2 run. For Devon Hall, that meant time to do something.

He got the ball on the right baseline, drove hard and laid it in. Thirty seconds later, after a turnover, he scored on another drive, was fouled and converted the three-point play, allowing the third-ranked Cavaliers to feel a little better, up 52-36, in a 17-point win.

“I thought he righted the ship,” coach Tony Bennett said.
