Davis delivers 48 as Pelicans rally

Anthony Davis scored a season-high 48 points and grabbed 17 rebounds, leading the New Orleans Pelicans back from 19 points down late in the third quarter to a 123-118 overtime victory over the Knicks on Sunday in New York.

Jrue Holiday added 31 points, and DeMarcus Cousins had 15 points, 16 rebounds, seven steals and five assists for the Pelicans.

New Orleans trailed by 16 after one quarter, was even further back late in the third and still was down by nine with 4 ½ minutes left in regulation. But the Pelicans kept coming, and Holiday had three baskets and a couple of free throws in OT to help them finish it off.

Kristaps Porzingis and Tim Hardaway Jr. each scored 25 points for the Knicks.

T’WOLVES 120, TRAIL BLAZERS 103 >> Jimmy Butler scored 24 points and Jeff Teague added 22 as Minnesota finished off a perfect homestand.

Karl-Anthony Towns had 20 points and 11 rebounds for his NBA-leading 37th double-double of the season. The Wolves had their first 5-0 homestand since 2001.

Damian Lillard scored 21 points for Portland. PACERS 120, SUNS 97 >> Darren Collison scored 19 points to lead visiting Indiana.

Victor Oladipo scored 13 of his 17 points in the first half for the Pacers, who have won four of five after a five-game losing streak.

Rookie Josh Jackson scored a career-best 21 points for Phoenix, which has lost four of five. The Suns’ Tyson Chandler, a 17year veteran, grabbed 14 rebounds to become the 40th player in league history to top 10,000 (10,003).

HEAT 97, BUCKS 79 >> Goran Dragic scored 11 of his 25 points in the fourth quarter, and host Miami ran its winning streak to seven games.

Giannis Antetokoun­mpo scored 22 to lead Milwaukee.

Notes

The Pelicans signed guard Mike James to a twoway contract. James played 32 games for Phoenix this season, making 10 starts and averaging 10.4 points. ... The Knicks signed guard Trey Burke, a former lottery pick who had been playing with their G League team. Burke was averaging 26.6 points for Westcheste­r.
