Max Dorward, Palo Alto basketball: In a double-overtime thrillerat­LosGatos,whichhiste­amwon77-68,Dorward finished with a game-high 23 points as Palo Alto stayed undefeated in the Santa Clara Valley Athletic League’s De Anza Division. Cameron Fini, Valley Christian basketball: Scored 21 of his 28 points after halftime as Valley Christian snapped a six-game losing streak while winning its first West Catholic Athletic League game of the season, 74-64 at home over Sacred Heart Cathedral. Haley Jones, Archbishop Mitty basketball: Led the Monarchs with 27 points, seven rebounds and five assists as the nation’s top-ranked team cruised on the road past Sacred Heart Cathedral 93-47. Samuel Kanghere, Newark Memorial soccer: Had two goals and an assist in a 4-1 win over Washington-Fremont and two goals and an assist in a 5-0 win over American as Newark Memorial improved to 11-1-4 overall and 7-0-1 in the Mission Valley Athletic League. Asib Khamush, Dublin soccer: Had a goal and an assist in a 3-3 tie against San Ramon Valley and scored twice in a 5-3 loss to Monte Vista, pushing his season point total to 41, the most among North Coast Section teams that report statistics to MaxPreps. Paulino Lazaro, Overfelt soccer: Scored two goals in his team’s 3-2 victory over Leigh. Coupled with a 2-2 tie against Andrew Hill, Overfelt began this week 7-1-2 overall and 3-1-1 in the BVAL’s Mount Hamilton Division. Avery Lee and Mallory North, Menlo basketball: Lee had 25 points in a 60-50 loss to Woodside Priory and 17 in a win over Oakland Tech, finishing the three-game week with 45 points; North had 39 points for the week, including 18 in a 52-43 victory over Notre Dame-Belmont. Carly Leong, Palo Alto basketball: Finished with 23 points as Palo Alto edged Los Gatos 52-50 to keep its record perfect in SCVAL De Anza Division play. Ariana Pereira and Michaela Troche, Newark Memorial wrestling: Pereira won the 170-pound division at the Lady Jaguar Girls Invitation­al at Jesse Bethel High and was named the tournament’s most valuable wrestler. Troche finished first in the 132-pound division as Newark Memorial placed first in the 28-team competitio­n. Zyon Pullin, College Park basketball: Scored 14 points as College Park beat host Campolindo 62-55 to improve to 14-3 overall and 1-1 in the Diablo Athletic League’s Foothill Division. Kendall Stubblefie­ld, Bellarmine College Prep basketball: Led the way with 24 points, including five in a row after Serra pulled even in the third quarter, as Bellarmine defeated the visiting Padres 62-53 in WCAL play. Cassidy Tshimbalan­ga, Carondelet soccer: Scored a goal in each of her team’s two wins, 4-1 over Livermore and 4-0 over Granada, as Carondelet ran its season record to 12-3-2. Julia Wang, Menlo soccer: Scored a goal in each half and also had an assist as Menlo defeated The King’s Academy 4-0. Also scored in a 2-2 tie against Crystal Springs Uplands. Roy Yuan, St. Francis basketball: Junior guard buried five 3-pointers on his way to 17 points as St. Francis stayed tied atop the WCAL standings with a 63-56 victory at home over St. Ignatius.
