Jacquez Walker, Piedmont Hills Sport: Basketball Position: Guard Class: Senior Scored 26 points in an 80-49 victory over Santa Teresa and 23 in a 71-57 win over Westmont as Piedmont Hills improved to 15-1 overall and 6-0 in the Blossom Valley Athletic League’s Mount Hamilton Division. Made 11 of 18 shots from beyond the 3-point arc in the two games, which stretched the Pirates’ winning streak to 13.

Grace Smith, Live Oak Sport: Basketball Position: Guard Class: Senior Topped 1,000 points for her varsity as career as Live Oak won two games last week to improve its record to 11-5 on the season. Needing 24 points for the milestone number, Smith scored 13 in a 57-31 win over Santa Teresa and 20 in a 45-30 win over Lincoln, going over 1,000 early in the fourth quarter against Lincoln. She is averaging 16.6 points and 7.4 rebounds per game.

Garrett Pascoe, Clayton Valley Charter Sport: Basketball Position: Guard Class: Senior Limited in the first half because of foul trouble, the Boston University-bound Pascoe scored 11 of his 18 points in the third quarter as Clayton Valley recorded an impressive 82-63 victory at home over Las Lomas, which entered the game with just one loss. Pascoe opened this week with 49 points Tuesday at Campolindo, but Clayton Valley suffered its first loss on the season, 100-98 in double OT. The Ugly Eagles fell to 18-1 overall and 2-1 in the Diablo Athletic League’s Foothill Division. Haylee Nelson, Newark Memorial Sport: Basketball Position: Guard Class: Senior In a 71-68 overtime victory over Moreau Catholic, Nelson had an epic performanc­e, finishing with 44 points and 28 rebounds as Newark Memorial ran its record to 14-3 overall and 5-1 in the Mission Valley Athletic League. The 44 points were the most by a Newark Memorial player in at least 15 seasons, according to the team’s coach. Nelson also had 18 points, 12 rebounds and five steals in a 55-19 win over Washington.
