California Water Service Group (California Water) is proud to be named a Top Workplace in the Bay Area for the seventh consecutive year

-

Looking back, 2017 was a record year for California Water Service Group. We topped industry standards for customer service, met all state and federal water quality standards for the systems that we operate, conducted more than 470,000 water quality tests, and invested nearly $260 million into our water systems. None of this would have been possible without our 1,200 dedicated employees. We firmly believe that our employees are the best in the industry, and we are proud of their commitment to providing quality, service, and value to the 2 million people we serve, 400,000 of whom are right here in the Bay Area. Our most valuable assets aren’t our pipes and pumps —they are our people. We strive to be an employer of choice by providing a safe workplace, opportunities for professional development, and an atmosphere of respect, collaboration, and transparent communication. What makes working at California Water unique and why do our employees often spend their entire careers with us? We foster growth. Our employee development program offers the chance for our employees to learn about roles outside of their jobs, which helps them make educated decisions about their career path with the company. We advocate for collaboration. Our employees have the opportunity to collaborate and solve challenges that affect all of our service areas. And we offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package. This includes 401(k) matching, pensions, competitive wages, health care, and more so our employees and their families are taken care of from the start of their career through their retirement. We are also committed to making good things happen and improving the quality of life in our communities, and our employees are an important part of that commitment. Whether it’s taking the time to raise money for a local charity or donating time to volunteer at a local homeless shelter or food pantry, our employees are connected to their communities. The bottom line: Whether serving customers or giving back to our communities, our employees share our determination to always do the right thing. Hear what some of our employees have to say: “I work with a great group of people throughout our organization. We provide an essential product and are very good at what we do, and we are getting better every day.” “I have the opportunity to work for a company that takes our customers’ experience seriously. I take pride in assisting our customers every day.” “I enjoy the work, the people, the customers, and everything that we do and our values. I have the freedom to do my job and to offer support when needed.” “I love my management: They listen to my ideas and concerns, and encourage me to think outside the box.” “My efforts are recognized and are appreciated. ‘California Water’ understands the well-being of each employee and cares and listens to all concerns. Although I have my duties and responsibilities, I love helping others and working ‘outside the box’ so that everyone is successful!” “I am consistently provided the opportunity to grow and excel. I have been given an extremely rewarding career, for which I am very thankful. I am afforded the ability to assist customers, colleagues, and co-workers daily. I truly value and appreciate the responsibilities I have been given.” “I work with great, caring professionals, and there is a satisfaction to providing clean, safe, and reliable water to our customers.” “Everyone at Cal Water wants to do the right thing by way of supporting our customers, communities and each other. The deep-rooted culture supports our ‘one-team’ approach, and we are all striving to do the best we can.”
