Joe Jackson is not tweeting, Paris says

On June 24, a beautifully written tweet was sent from Joe Jackson’s Twitter account. It was both heartbreaking and uplifting, a fitting summation of what the father of Michael and Janet Jackson is going through as he lies in the hospital and battles terminal cancer.

The tweet read: “I have seen more sunsets than I have left to see. The sun rises when the time comes and whether you like it or not the sun sets when the time comes.”

The problem is, however, Jackson reportedly didn’t send the Tweet.

Joe’s granddaughter Paris Jackson — the daughter of Michael Jackson — is trying to set the record straight about the post. She made her own tweet on June 24, saying that earlier post did not come from Joe Jackson.

“This is a beautiful tweet. Though it upsets me to see whoever is in charge of this account taking advantage of it. My grandfather did not tweet this. I’m not sure if he’s ever used this account,” she tweeted. There have been several tweets from Joe Jackson’s account over the months, showing him signing copies of his book “Precious Moments” and doing such things as hanging out at Jamba Juice.

News broke last week that Jackson had been admitted to an undisclosed health facility, reportedly in Las Vegas, for terminal cancer. Family members had gathered by the patriarch’s side and the prognosis did not look promising. “Family sources tell us, Joe has been battling the illness for some time, but it is at the end stages. We’re told his wife, Katherine, has been at his bedside recently. We’re also told some of Joe’s children and grandchildren have also made the trip to the hospital,” TMZ reports.

Jermaine Jackson, a member of the Jackson 5, recently tweeted about his father’s health. “My father’s health is not good, but ‘dying’ is a harsh word chosen by headline writers, not me. For however long he has left, my mother, siblings, and relatives want to be with him, without hindrance,” he tweeted.

Jackson, 89, was born July 26, 1928 in Fountain Hill, Arkansas.
