Woman dies from injuries in alleged attack by husband
SAN JOSE » A San Jose woman has died from injuries she allegedly suffered at the hands of her husband in an attack this month, police said.
Tiffany Phan, 49, of San Jose, died at a hospital Wednesday, according to San Jose police and the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office.
She was injured Aug. 8 at a home in Muirfield Court, near Alum Rock Avenue and Interstate 680 in East San Jose.
Officers were called about 4:45 p.m. for reports of a domestic disturbance and found Phan “suffering from major head trauma from an apparent
assault,” police said.
Phan was rushed to the hospital, and her husband, 48-year-old Cam Ngoc Le, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, police said. That charge is expected to be amended to a murder count now that his wife has died.
San Jose police are treating the killing as a domestic-violence homicide.
The death marked the city’s 19th homicide of the year. The same number of homicides were recorded at the same point in 2017.
