Concerts: DMB, Foos, Phoenix
Get ready to rock with the Dave Matthews Band, Foo Fighters and other big acts heading into the Bay Area this week. Here’s a look at some of the top shows headed our way:
Dave Matthews Band: Matthews and company are out on the road in support of their ninth studio album, “Come Tomorrow,” which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 back in June. It’s the band’s first studio album since 2012’s “Away from the World.” The band, long a Bay Area favorite, returns to Shoreline Amphitheatre at Mountain View on Saturday. Foo Fighters: These future Rock & Roll Hall of Famers, under the guidance of the one and only Dave Grohl, will undoubtedly put on a terrific show when they perform at SAP Center at San Jose on Wednesday. The War on Drugs: This exceptional
indie-rock act returns to the Bay Area to perform a two-night stand, Monday and Tuesday, at the Fox Theater in Oakland. The band is led by Adam Granduciel, who is a great vocalist and an even better guitarist. Land of Talk opens. Details: 8 p.m.; $46; www.ticketmaster.com.
Korn: The Bakersfield alt-metal act, which has sold millions of albums since forming in the early ’90s, performs Wednesday at the Masonic in San Francisco. Details: 8 p.m.; $56-$66; www. livenation.com.
Phoenix: The French indie-pop band, known for the Top 10 alternative hits “Lisztomania” and “1901,” supports last year’s “Ti Amo” with a performance on Saturday at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley. Cut Copy and Sir Sly round out the bill. Details: 8 p.m.; $49.50; www.ticketmaster.com.
