Q Any news on when eastbound Blossom Hill Road at the Highway 17 overpass will reopen? This closure has created a traffic nightmare. … Blossom

Hill Road in Los Gatos has been closed in one direction due to a to a big rig crashing a crane boom into it a while ago. … There is no sign of any work being done. The closure has impacted local businesses, parents trying to get their children to school and all of us who live or work in the area. — Jim Hamm, Mike Nelson and Irene Meyer-Lopez

A Finally, repairs are underway and should be completed shortly after Thanksgiving. There will be overnight closures every Friday, Saturday and Sunday until Nov. 26 on southbound Highway 17 between Lark Avenue and Los Gatos-Saratoga Road from midnight to 5 a.m. to begin repairing the concrete girder underneath the bridge. Look for signs showing detour routes.

Q The roads through the new Milpitas and Berryessa BART stations seem to be done, but construction fences continue to block the new roads. If Milpitas Boulevard was open, this would be a good route to bike to the Warm Springs BART station while we wait for the new stations to open. — Ian Kluft, San Jose

A The new roads that connect or run through the new VTA transit centers won’t open until BART trains begin running between Fremont and San Jose. And there’s still no date for that.

Q Can the new red carpool lane stickers be installed on top of the white ones, or do the white ones need to be removed first? — Larry Sweeney Atherton

A You can put them on top of the white stickers.

Q My son attends the Action Day preschool on Campbell Avenue between Via D’Este and Anthony Drive. A faded crosswalk exists near the preschool but it is so lightly painted that I don’t use it (cars travel VERY fast down Campbell Avenue and I fear we will get hit) and walk out of my way to the stoplight at Victor Drive. I would love to see this crosswalk get lights that flash when a pedestrian wants to cross or orange flags that we can use. Can someone look into this? — Kathy Nakamatsu, Campbell

A Campbell crews will repaint the faded yellow crosswalk between Via D’Este and Colleen Way. But this crosswalk has very few pedestrians and is probably a holdover from when there was a school there. That means no flashing beacons will be installed nor orange flags because they would be an ongoing item to maintain.

Q Remember when traffic around Levi’s Stadium was terrible when the 49ers first moved there? They did a fantastic job solving that problem by just being a terrible team so that no one goes to the game anymore. — Kevin

A Funny guy.
