Struggling Blackhawks lose sixth in a row

Sean Couturier had two goals and an assist, Brian Elliott made 33 saves and the Flyers continued their dominance over Chicago in Philadelph­ia with a 4-0 victory over the slumping Blackhawks on Saturday.

Claude Giroux tallied a goal and two assists and Nolan Patrick added an empty-netter for the Flyers, who have won five of six overall and 15 in a row at home in the regular season against the Blackhawks. Chicago last won a regular-season game in Philadelph­ia on Nov. 9, 1996.

The Blackhawks have lost six straight games and two in a row under coach Jeremy Colliton. The 33-year-old Colliton replaced Joel Quennevill­e, the NHL’s second-winningest regular-season coach who was fired on Tuesday after 10 seasons at the helm. FLAMES 1, KINGS 0 >> Travis Hamonic scored a firstperio­d goal for Calgary and goalie David Rattich made it stand up with 21 saves.

Kings goalie Jack Campbell made 35 saves. PREDATORS 5, STARS 4 OT >> Mattias Ekholm scored 2:27 into overtime, and Nashville rallied to beat Dallas.

Nashville killed off a Dallas power play for the first part of OT, and then Ekholm took a cross-ice pass from Kyle Turris and sent the puck over Stars goalie Ben Bishop for the win. SABRES 4, CANUCKS 3 SO >> Jeff Skinner and Sam Reinhart rallied Buffalo with goals late in the third period, and Jack Eichel and Casey Mittelstad­t scored in the shootout to beat Vancouver.

With goalie Carter Hutton pulled for an extra attacker, Skinner got Buffalo within 3-2 with 2:27 left in the third, and Reinhart tied it 40 seconds later. Nathan Beaulieu also scored, and Rasmus Ristolaine­n and Rasmus Dahlin each had two assists in the Sabres’ second straight overtime win.

PENGUINS 4, COYOTES 0 >> Sidney Crosby had a goal and an assist, Casey DeSmith stopped 39 shots and Pittsburgh beat Arizona to snap a five-game losing streak. BRUINS 5, MAPLE LEAFS 1 >> David Pastrnak had three goals and an assist to lead Boston to a win over Toronto.

Patrice Bergeron had a goal and two assists, Joakim Nordstrom also scored and Brad Marchand had two assists as the Bruins ended the Maple Leafs’ three-game winning streak and handed The Islanders’ Thomas Hickey flips over Panthers center Vincent Trocheck on Saturday.

Toronto its first road loss of the season. Jaroslav Halak stopped 40 shots.

RED WINGS 4, HURRICANES 3 SO >> Anthony Mantha scored twice and Frans Nielsen netted the deciding goal in the shootout as Detroit rallied to a shootout victory over Carolina. CANADIENS 5, GOLDEN KNIGHTS 4 >> Andrew Shaw scored twice, Tomas Tatar had the go-ahead goal and Montreal rallied to beat Vegas.

RANGERS 5, BLUE JACKETS 4 >> Jimmy Vesey scored in the fifth round of the shootout to lift New York over Columbus.

SENATORS 6, LIGHTNING 4 >> Rookie Brady Tkachuk had a goal and an assist, and Ryan Dzingel scored a tiebreakin­g goal during Ottawa’s four-goal third period as the Senators rallied to beat Tampa Bay.

Matt Duchene, Bobby Ryan, Colin White and Mark Stone also scored for the Senators. Craig Anderson stopped 24 shots. PANTHERS 2, ISLANDERS 2 >> Aleksander Barkov scored the go-ahead goal in the third period, and Florida beat New York.

Troy Brouwer, Mike Hoffman and Denis Malgin also scored for the Panthers, who won their third straight. Roberto Luongo made 29 saves for his third straight win after missing nearly a month with a knee injury.

BOESER OUT FOR CANUCKS >> Brock Boeser will miss at least four games for the Vancouver Canucks because of a groin injury.

Canucks coach Travis Green said Saturday prior to a game in Buffalo that Boeser is week to week. Green says the 21-year-old forward “will be fine” after a period of rest.
