Clara “Maxine” Spencer

March 11, 1922 - November 30, 2018 Resident of San Jose

Maxine passed away peacefully in her sleep with her loving daughters by her side. She touched many lives with her gentle spirit and positive outlook on life. She has resided at Brookdale, San Jose for the past 15 years where she will be missed by many friends.

Maxine was born in Grandfield, Oklahoma. Her husband, Bill served in the Navy for 26 years. During that time they lived in many states as well as Japan. Later in life they ventured to Alaska every year for months at a time to fish and enjoy camping life. Her greatest joy in life were her 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great great-great grandchildren.

Maxine is predeceased by her loving husband, Bill (September 1, 2010). Her devoted children Jimmy Pipkin and his wife Rose of Nevada, Sharon Childs and her husband Eric of Los Gatos, Sandi Layman of Virginia, Shirley Evans and her husband Jeffery of Oakley, and her step daughter Carrol Wendt and her husband Gary of Arizona. Grandchildren; Kevin, Catherine, Derral, David, Richard, Robert, Mark, Stephen, Becky, and Brian. Greatgrandchildren, Tyler, Dacey, Bodie, Cade, Nash, Hunter, Avery, James and Cynthia, Clara, Finley, Faith, Mya, Tyson. Great-Great Grandchildren Tesla and Christopher. She is also predeceased by her sister Ada King, and brother Chub Lasley. Her loving spirit will be missed by all who knew her.

Friends and family are invited to a Funeral Vigil including a viewing and rosary on Monday, December 17, 2018 11:00-1:00 at Darling Fisher Chapel of the Hills, 615 N Santa Cruz Ave in Los Gatos. A Celebration of life Reception will follow from 2:00-4:00 at Brookdale - San Jose. Maxine would be please if in lieu of flowers you make a donation to a charity of your choice.
