Elizabeth C. Studer (Liz), 82, passed away on Sunday November 4 at Chai House in San Jose. She was born in St. Louis Missouri on February 18, 1936 to mother Bedonna Lingle Carstarphe­n and father Louis Henry Carstarphe­n.

She attended University of Texas then completed her architectu­re degree at University of Arizona.

Married to Raymond Studer from 1957 To 1972. Survived by sister Molly Schwab husband Glen, son Gordon Studer and daughter Gretchen Nakamura husband Brent and granddaugh­ter Mia (11). Her brother Thomas Carstarphe­n passed away in 2003.

Throughout her life she lived in Missouri, Texas, Arizona, Rhode Island, Pennsylvan­ia, Kansas and finally moved to California to help care for her granddaugh­ter.

A loving mother, a champion horseback rider and show jumper, she knit beautiful sweaters, sewed her own suites, entertaine­d with gourmet meals, quilted, had a love for animals, was an avid tennis player, worked as a stock market analyst and an amazing artist. She will be remembered as a strong, curious woman hungry for knowledge. The last years, after her stroke, where difficult both physically and mentally and she worked extremely hard on recovery.

She was and is greatly loved and will be deeply missedrest in peace. Your light can now shine bright and beautiful into eternity.

A celebratio­n of life gathering will be held Saturday December 15th, 2018 from 2:00pm-4:00pm at Chai House, 814 St. Elizabeth Dr., San Jose, CA in the community room. Funeral Home-California Cremation Society.
