Michael William Keogh, age 76, of Scotts Valley, California, passed away at his home surrounded by family on Friday, November 30, 2018.

Mike was born on February 24, 1942 in Honolulu, Hawaii to William and Elizabeth Keogh. Born into a military family, his childhood was spent traveling the world. He became an Eagle Scout and was an avid swimmer while at Cathedral High School in El Paso, Texas where he graduated in 1960. Mike earned both a BS in Civil Engineerin­g and an MS in Traffic Engineerin­g from San Jose State University where he met his bride Jackie. They married on May 1, 1965 in Cupertino, California. Mike worked as a civil engineer for the Counties of San Mateo and Santa Clara as well as the City of San Jose. He then pursued a career as a general contractor and property manager. Mike and Jackie moved to Scotts Valley in 1977 where they raised their family and enjoyed participat­ing in service to the community. Mike was honored by the Scotts Valley Chamber of Commerce as Man of the Year in 2001 and was involved in the Lions Club, Friends of the Library, Special Olympics and youth soccer coaching. Mike served as a board member for the Santa Cruz County Regional Transporta­tion Commission and the Santa Cruz Metro Transit District. Above all, Mike will forever be remembered for his deep love of family, country, as a loyal friend and a respected member of the community.

Mike is survived by his adored wife of 53 years, Jacqueline Bogdanich Keogh. Loving father to Jennifer Auvinen and husband Victor; Rebecca Keogh; Michael Keogh and wife Deanna. Proud Papa to his grandchild­ren Erin and Andrew Auvinen; Dustin Varia; Ashlie and Nathan Keogh. Brother to Mary Beth Barloga and husband Dennis; Kathy Berra and husband Rich; Dennis Keogh and wife Elaine; David Keogh and wife Kimberly; sister-in-law Terri Keogh. Cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews. Mike was preceded in death by parents William and Elizabeth Keogh, brother Donald Keogh and sister Elaine Deitch.

A Celebratio­n of Life will be held at The Inn at Pasatiempo on Tuesday, December 11th at 12pm at which time family and friends are encouraged to share their favorite memory of Mike. 555 Highway 17 in Santa Cruz. A private burial service will be held by the family.
