Fatal shooting marks city’s second homicide of 2019

SAN JOSE >> A man was fatally shot early Sunday, marking the city’s second homicide of the year.

Police said they had not yet identified or found any suspects.

Around 1:16 a.m., San Jose police said officers responded to a report of a person shot in the area of Parkmoor Avenue and Race Street.

Officers found a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital, where he died a short time later, police said.

The identity of the man will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office after it is confirmed and his family is notified.

The killing comes just days after a woman was found stabbed to death Thursday night near Payne Avenue and San Tomas Expressway. No further details were available.
