Week’s concerts: Lauren Daigle, Mazzy Star

It’s a really strong week for music in the Bay Area, highlighte­d by appearance­s from rising star vocalist Lauren Daigle and dream-pop outfit Mazzy Star. Here’s a look at some of the top picks:

Lauren Daigle: What was the best single of 2018? For our money, it was Daigle’s uplifting and hope-filled “You Say,” a gorgeous power ballad that brought crossover success to this longtime Christian music artist. Both the song and its parent album, “Look Up Child,” just won Grammys in contempora­ry Christian categories. This rising star brings her Look Up Child Tour to the Warfield in San Francisco on Friday. Mazzy Star: The sensationa­l dream-pop act is back in acpears tion and a Sunday at the Fox Theater in Oakland.
