You can’t stop James Holzhauer! You can only hope to contain him!

The record-breaking “Jeopardy!” god will disappear from our TV screens for two weeks beginning tonight as the game show clears the decks for its annual Teachers Tournament, which runs through May 17.

Host Alex Trebek will welcome 15 educators from around the country, including Trevor Crowell, a Mountain View resident who teaches Spanish at Palo Alto High School. As the only local contestant competing, it’s up to him to represent the Bay Area well.

Here are the other teachers — mere mortals — who will vie for a $100,000 grand prize and a spot in the next Tournament of Champions:

• Francois Barcomb, a high school physics teacher from New Paltz, New York.

• Tara Baxter, a high school English teacher from Tucson, Arizona.

• Alexandra Bicks, a high school E.S.L. teacher from Cambridge, Massachusetts.

• Matthew Bunch, a middle school civics and world history teacher from Miami, Florida.

• Sara DelVillano, a middle school instrumental music teacher from Lanham, Maryland.

• Vicki Leibeck-Owsley, a high school English teacher from Columbia, Kentucky.

• Mariah Minges Klusman, a high school English language arts teacher from Wyncote, Pennsylvania.

• Melissa Okey, an elementary school resource teacher from Panorama City.

• Conor Quinn, a high school world history teacher from Albany, New York.

• Joe Rengstorf, a middle school special education teacher from Poulsbo, Washington.

• Julia Rosinski Bailey, a high school chemistry teacher from Austin, Texas.

• Dave Rowswell, a high school art teacher from Cheyenne, Wyoming.

• Benjamin Schwartz, a middle school English teacher from Stamford, Connecticut.

• Ellie Walsh, a high school world history and U.S. government teacher from Nashville, Tennessee.

Is there another Holzhauer among this bunch? Don’t make us laugh. We highly doubt it, but you never know. A star could be born.

Meanwhile, Holzhauer returns to action on “Jeopardy!” May 20.
