Tripsavvy’s top 10 long-weekend destinations for 2019

-

Getting away for a week is surprisingly hard. That’s why extended weekend trips are the bomb. Long enough to feel like a getaway and close enough that you don’t spend the entire time in transit. According to the editors at Tripsavvy, who recently delved into the subject, you want to go “somewhere that offers plenty to do, but not so much that it feels (like) you barely scratched the surface when you leave.”

With Fourth of July around the corner, you may be thinking of travel possibilities. Tripsavvy recently curated a list of top destinations for a long weekend, with suggested activities to best utilize the time.

If you’re hankering to unplug and revel in the outdoors, they say, spend a day or two adventuring through Oregon’s Mount Hood National Forest or, if you happen to be on the East Coast, check out the art scene in elegantly tranformed Hudson, New York. Looking for the ultimate boho escape closer to home? Head to Ojai, 15miles north of Ventura, for a weekend of farm-fresh eats, glamping and yoga. Sorry — we meant long weekend. You’ll want to spend more than two days there.
