Kelley’s career day carries UCLA past ASU

Joshua Kelley scored a career-high four touchdowns and rushed for 164 yards to lead UCLA to a 42-32 victory over No. 24 Arizona State on Saturday night.

Kelley has rushed for over 100 yards in three of the past four games. The Bruins scored on five of their first six drives at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, including four straight from late in the first quarter to midway in the third after it was tied at 7.

Dorian Thompson-robinson completed 16 of 23 passes for 176 yards and two touchdowns. The sophomore injured his left leg after being hit on a scramble during the fourth quarter and did not return.

UCLA (3-5, 3-2 Pac-12) has won consecutiv­e games for only the second time in Chip Kelly’s two-year tenure.

Jayden Daniels had 338 all-purpose yards and accounted for all four touchdowns for Arizona State (5-3, 2-3). He threw for 271 yards and three fourth-quarter touchdowns, completing 20 of 29. Daniels also rushed for 67 yards, including a 1-yard sneak during the first quarter that tied it.

VALLADAY CARRIES WYOMING PAST NEVADA >> Xazavian Valladay rushed for a career-high 206 yards, Sean Chambers threw for 158 yards and two touchdowns, and host Wyoming defeated Nevada (4-4, 1-3 Mountain West) 31-3. Wyoming (6-2, 3-1), bowl eligible for the fourth consecutiv­e season, has won seven consecutiv­e home games.

Wyoming had 258 rushing yards and 221 passing yards for a total of 479.

MCDONALD, REED HELP HAWAII RUN OVER NEW MEXICO >> Cole Mcdonald and Miles Reed led Hawaii’s i (5-3, 2-2 Mountain West) ground game as the Rainbow Warriors beat host New Mexico 45-31 in Albuquerqu­e. The Rainbow Warriors gained 255 yards on the grownd. Mcdonald led the way with a career-best 140 yards with two TD runs.

Ahmari Davis was a bright light for New Mexico (2-6, 0-4), gaining a career-high 200 yards rushing with two scores. Jordan Kress added 100 yards receiving and a TD. COFIELD’S LATE TD RUN LIFTS NDSU TO 28TH STRAIGHT WIN >> Adam Cofield sprinted 71 yards on fourth down for a touchdown with 2½ minutes left, and FCS top-ranked North Dakota State (8-0, 4-0 Missouri Valley) claimed its 28th straight victory with a 23-16 win over rival South Dakota State (6-2, 3-1) in Brookings, South Dakota.

LUKE MCCAFFREY SEES ACTION FOR NEBRASKA >> Nebraska backup Noah Vedral was injured in the second quarter of the Cornhusker­s’ 3831 home loss to Indiana, and thirdstrin­g quarterbac­k Luke Mccaffrey replaced him. Mccaffrey is the brother of Carolina Panthers star Christian Mccaffrey and son of former NFL receiver Ed Mccaffrey.

Mccaffrey marched the Cornhusker­s 74 yards for a score to give Nebraska a 21-16 lead at halftime.
