Single-family homes you can afford near BART

- By Cameron Sullivan

Imagine an immaculate, single-family new home with all the necessary design, green and smart features included.

Now imagine that home and its property within a mile of BART and surrounded by foothills, regional parks and marinas on the San Joaquin River Delta.

Imagine that the home has four

bedrooms, three bathrooms and a smart hub that links all your built-in technology.

Now consider the fact that the house you’re imagining is for sale beginning at belowmedian pricing for the area. Turns out, you’re not imagining. Among a handful of comingsoon communities in the Bay Area and beyond is The Pointe at Wildflower Station by Denova Homes. The community’s grand opening begins this Saturday, January 18, featuring catered food, tours of two model homes and face-to-face time with the builder’s representatives.

“The Pointe is the first phase of

Wildflower and the 22 single-family, detached homes will range in size from 2,187 to 2,303 square feet,” said Samantha Matlock, marketing coordinator for Denova Homes. “We have two floor plan options and each home will have four bedrooms and three bathrooms, with prices starting in the $500,000 (range).”

Matlock added that a later phase of Wildflower Station — The Landing — will open in the fall of 2020 and will include 98 condominium residences featuring three floor plans.

The overall community is slated to include central open-air retail space, a bocce court, picnic greens and planned retail, said Matlock, noting that delivery of the 22 single-family homes

will take place between late February and May.

Standard finishes in the homes include luxury vinyl plank flooring throughout the first floor; 12-by-12-inch ceramic tile in the bathrooms and laundry; 8-foot interior doors; dual-zone smart thermostat; tankless water heater; and much more.

“The houses also have some great options, such as an outdoor living space with a patio,” said Matlock.

Wildflower Station is only a mile’s drive to the new Antioch BART Station. That’s close enough that those wanting to avoid BART parking can walk or cycle a pleasant mile through neighborhoods streets, past retail centers and along two main roads to reach BART.

Perhaps even more awe-inspiring are Wildflower Station’s surroundings. Portions of the community provide unobstructed views of Mount Diablo and the neighborhood is just 10 to 15 miles from Contra Loma Regional Park and its reservoirs and beaches, and Black Diamond Mines Regional Preserve.

At completion, 120 households living at Denova’s Wildflower Station will enjoy their location only a short distance from the Antioch Dunes National Wildlife Refuge, the Antioch Marina on the San Joaquin River Delta, and three retail and dining centers. A pleasant, half-mile walk on neighborhood streets will bring residents to Antioch’s Hillcrest

Park, an 18-acre green space with picnic and barbecue areas, tennis, basketball, and a playground.

Also in Antioch and for sale beginning at below-median prices — and within a few miles of BART — is Riverview at Monterra by K. Hovnanian Homes. There, four designs of single-family homes range in size from 2,033 square feet to 2,766 square feet with four bedrooms, two- to twoand-a-half bathrooms and two- to three-car garages. Included are two designs with singlestory floor plans that deliver ease and comfort for families of all ages and stages.

The new community is positioned at Nelson Ranch Park, within walking distance of an

elementary school and within a quarter-mile walk of the multiuse Delta de Anza Regional Trail, which is maintained by the East Bay Regional Park District. The builder offers a variety of amenities such as RV parking on select lots, third-car garage (per plan) and an optional multigen suite.

K. Hovnanian is also offering incentives of up to $68,000 on select, quick-move-in homes.

That said, those who want to take advantage of the pricing and quality of Riverview at Monterra, but who won’t be ready to move in this month or even this year, might still consider a visit and a tour. Once there, ask about future phases of Riverview at Monterra, which will continue into 2021.
