Doris Luci

-

Resident of San Jose January 30, 1927 – February 3, 2020

Doris was born in San Francisco, CA and attended Galileo High School. She moved to San Jose in 1947 with her husband, Marino Luci, and they worked together at Gallo Macaroni Factory, their family business. Following the sale of the business and her husband’s untimely death in 1968, Doris continued her career for 30 years at the Emporium where she shared her love and expertise of fine china with hundreds of brides. Most important to Doris was her family -- she was a true matriarch in every sense of the word. A woman ahead of her time, Doris was a working mom providing for her family. She lived a simple life, led by example and passed on many family traditions. She loved the San Francisco Giants and watching old cowboy movies. She enjoyed her retired years attending the many sporting events and milestones of her granddaughters, niece, great grandchildren, and greatnephews. There wasn’t an event she missed, or an umpire she didn’t yell at! She was an active member of the St. Christopher Church Over 50’s Club and St. Martin’s Church Widows & Widowers Club.

Doris is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Darleen and Bill Cordoni of San Jose, granddaughters Lisa Matherly (Brian) and Kim LeGue (Jeff) of San Jose, and Great Grandchildren Kaitlyn, Nathan, and Taylor Matherly, and Jack LeGue. She is also survived by her sister Sandra Fuentes (Ignacio) of Daly City, niece Michelle Camicia (Tony) of South San Francisco, and great-nephews Domenic, Garrett, and Matthew Camicia.

Doris has been reunited with her husband, Marino Luci, and her brother Bruno Rosellini, her parents and the many friends who have passed before her.

Friends and family are invited to join a Funeral Mass on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 2:00pm at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 2278 Booksin Ave, San Jose. A Celebration of Life will follow. Location details will be provided at church.

Special thanks to Maria Zelaya, her caregiver, who treated her with love and kindness each and every day.
