Have you lost your job or had your work hours reduced? File and manage your Unemployme­nt Insurance claim using UI Onlinesm. edd.ca.gov/ui_online

• File or reopen a claim.

• Certify for benefits and get paid faster.

Create a Benefit Programs edd.ca.gov/bpo

• Choose a personal image and caption. Select and answer four security questions.

• Check your email. Select the unique link within 48 hours of receiving the email to complete the process or you’ll need to start over.

Log in to Benefit Programs Online and select UI Online to get started.

• Select file a claim.

• Provide your general informatio­n, last employer informatio­n, and employment history.

• Review the informatio­n you provided on the summary page and then select Submit. Note: After submitting your claim, a confirmati­on page will display. You may keep your confirmati­on number for your records.

UI Online is available during the times listed below:

Mon. 4 a.m.-10 p.m. Tues.-friday 2 a.m.-10 p.m. Sat. 2 a.m.-8 p.m.

Sun. 5 a.m.-8:30 p.m.

Contractor­s needing relief California’s self-employed workers and independen­t contractor­s who have seen their income slashed due to COVID-19 will have the chance to apply for federal relief — but not until the end of April. The state’s Employment Developmen­t Department is creating a one-stop website for people to apply for as much as $600 a week for their unemployed time from March 29.
