Condo communities deliver upscale convenience

- By Cameron Sullivan

Blending the benefits of urban and suburban living, today’s new condominium communities serve up high-end benefits with all the comforts of single-family living.

Each community offers a distinguishing set of amenities and features, from resortstyle features such as fully equipped fitness centers, pools or community centers to close proximity to public transit and freeways.

Some are walking distance from shopping and dining in community downtown areas. And all feature high-quality tech and environmentally friendly design and construction.

Luxury in a U.S. ‘Most Livable’ city *

Metro Crossing, a Toll Brothers community in Fremont, offers easy access to open space, recreation and urban hubs. While situated just walking or cycling distance to Warm Springs BART and major freeways, Metro Crossing residents enjoy that home is the best place for both work and play.

Each of the community›s four collections are built with a luxury lifestyle that appeals to young couples, families and those who have finally found their «forever» home. It›s a resort-style village featuring open space; a clubhouse; fitness center, Junior

Olympics sized pool with lap lanes; private cabanas; spas and more.

“It’s the best of luxury living in a contemporary urban neighborhood,” according to Toll Brothers.

Parents and families will appreciate that the Fremont Unified School District›s newest school site, Lila Bringhurst Elementary School, will be completed this year.

Ranging in size from 1-4 bedrooms and up to 4.5 bathrooms between the four collections, each unit includes private outdoor living space. Covered balconies or terraces range from 300-750 sq. feet in size with options for customization to buyers› needs.

In addition, while all Metro Crossing homes have elevator access to each floor, each collection offers its own special amenities. Westbourne Park features its own community clubroom, game room, roof top terrace, dog washing

station and bike lounge. Russell Square offers large private penthouses.

Residences at both Russell Square and Chancery Lane include private, two-car garages. Chancery Lane features some of Metro Crossing’s largest floor plans. And Norwood Junction provides access to multiple pedestrian walking trails.

Spacious townhomes in Castro Valley

Meanwhile, in the heart of Castro Valley, near

I-580, BART, shopping, entertainment and the Chabot and Cull Canyon Recreation Area, are the Baker + Jamison communities by Van Daele Homes. Here, charming, three-story attached townhome condominiums exhibit attention to detail in craftsmanship and efficient design.

From gourmet kitchens and advanced home technology to as many as four bedrooms and up to 2,160 square feet of living space, each home also includes its own attached, two-car garage. Elegant finishes on the interior

of homes that are just a short walk to Castro Valley’s downtown lend the community a blend of excitement within the comforts of home.

Final closeouts on condos and detached homes

To take advantage of the ease of the urban/ suburban lifestyle homes and the benefits of quick move-in opportunities, also consider Van Daele’s Veneto in Morgan Hill and Blue Mountain’s Union Parc in Hayward.

The two-story attached condominiums at

Veneto, which is near Caltrain and I-101, feature up to four bedrooms and approximately 2,410 square feet of living space. Each home has a great room, chefs kitchen, luxurious master suite, attached 2-car garage and an exterior courtyard for indoor/ outdoor living. Common areas include a bocce court, BBQ area, and playground.

Meanwhile, the community of detached, two-story homes at Blue Mountain’s Union Parc blur big city life with nature in its tucked-away urban neighborhood. At 2,100+ square feet apiece, every Union Parc home also has its own backyard within this small, cleverly designed Hayward community.

Call builders to confirm hours and schedule appointments or view each community online before visiting.
