Two popular Bay Area gardens — Filoli Historic House and Garden in Woodside and Ruth Bancroft Garden in Walnut Creek — are lifting their quarantines and inviting guests to visit, with restrictions and precautions.

Both gardens, along with other Bay Area favorites, have been closed for weeks because of the coronavirus shutdown.

Filoli’s garden and estate trail are now open with discounted ticket prices. Tours of the historic Georgian revival home, however, are not available for now.

All tickets must be purchased online, and there will be no at-the-gate sales.

Tickets are $20 for adults; $15 for seniors, students, military and teachers; and $10 for children 5 to 17; admission is free to members.

The number of visitors will be limited to ensure guests won’t be crowded. All guests must wear face coverings and are encouraged to wash their hands frequently.

Filoli also has marked a map showing a one-way route that guests must follow. There are no tours or docents planned.

Ruth Bancroft Garden, which showcases cactuses and succulents, reopens at 10 a.m. today and will be open to members through Friday. It will open to the public at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Like Filoli, visitors to Ruth Bancroft must wear face coverings and practice social distancing. Guests are encouraged to come alone or with one other person; larger groups are prohibited.

Ticket prices are $10 for adults, and $8 for seniors, students and active military. Garden members and children younger than 12 are admitted free.

The number of guests in the garden and nursery will be limited, and there will be separate entrance and exit areas for the garden and nursery.

Both gardens ask that people who do not feel well stay home.
