San Jose gang investigation ends in eight arrests
A South Bay gang investigation culminated Wednesday and Thursday in eight arrests, as well as the seizure of half a dozen firearms, illegal drugs and tens of thousands of dollars, authorities said. The investigation, which began in April, focused on “suspects associated with gangs for possessing firearms and other crimes,” San Jose police Sgt. Enrique Garcia said in a news release Friday. Eight suspects were arrested and booked into county jail on charges including child endangerment, felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, possession of narcotics for sale and possession of illegal weapons, according to Garcia. Garcia said authorities also seized six guns, one of which had been stolen; ammunition; brass knuckles; marijuana and other drugs; and $26,000 in cash from drug sales. The suspects were identified as 30-yearold Daniel Adlama, 26-year-old Marcos Cuevas, 34-year-old Julio Garcia-cortez, 26-year-old Hector Hurtado, 32-year-old Maria Jimenez, 32-year-old Robert Jimenez, 30-year-old Ervin Steverson III, all of San Jose, and 28-year-old Raul Radillo of Milpitas.
