Jaguars QB Minshew on virus list

The Jacksonvil­le Jaguars placed starting quarterbac­k Gardner Minshew and four teammates, including two of his roommates, on the COVID-19 list.

Running back Ryquell Armstead, tight end Charles Jones, receiver Michael Walker and safety Andrew Wingard also were placed on the list Sunday. Jones was activated from the COVID-19 list earlier in the day.

Minshew, Walker and Wingard have been roommates a little more than a year.

The COVID-19 list is for a player who tests positive for coronaviru­s or has been quarantine­d after being in close contact with someone infected.

The Jaguars are expected to hold their first training camp practice on Aug. 12.

The Jaguars also signed fifthyear defensive end Adam Gotsis and activated rookie defensive tackle DaVon Hamilton and starting right tackle Jawaan Taylor from the COVID-19 list.

Atlanta Falcons outside linebacker Foye Oluokun also was placed on the COVID-19 list.

EAGLES COACH PEDERSON TESTS POSITIVE>> Eagles coach Doug Pederson tested positive for COVID-19. The Eagles said Pederson hasn’t experience­d any symptoms, is feeling well and under self-quarantine.

RAIDERS SIGN RB HILL>> Freeagent running back Jeremy Hill said via Twitter that he has signed with the Raiders. Hill, 27, hasn’t played since the 2018 season opener when he suffered a torn ACL.

BROWNS’ LANDRY ON PUP LIST>> Cleveland Browns star wide receiver Jarvis Landry was placed on the active/physically unable to perform list following offseason hip surgery. Landry has said he expects to be back on the field sometime in August.

PATRIOTS, COWBOY OPT OUT>> Receiver Marqise Lee and tight end Matt LaCosse joined a list of six other New England Patriots players who have already declared their intentions to sit out this season. Dallas fullback Jamize Olawale and Detroit wide receiver Geronimo Allialso decided to opt out.

GIANTS’ WILLIAMS DESIGNATED>> New York Giants defensive tackle Leonard Williams was designated with a non-football injury.
