Man arrested on suspicion of unlawful sexual intercourse with teen
MOUNTAIN VIEW >> A 22-yearold Sunnyvale man has been arrested on suspicion of having unlawful sexual intercourse with a 15-yearold Arizona girl, and detectives believe there may be other victims, according to the Mountain View Police Department.
Officers found the teen sitting in an idling car outside the Target store at 555 Showers Drive on Aug. 3, just days after the suspect’s wife met with officers to discuss her husband’s relationship with a girl he had met over Snapchat, police said in a news release.
Police said the teen told officers the suspect, identified as Justin Watson, had driven her from Arizona to Mountain View.
Watson was arrested on suspicion of unlawful sexual intercourse, oral copulation with a person under the age of 18, oral copulation with a minor by force or distress, showing or sending harmful material to seduce a minor, contacting a minor with the intent to commit certain felonies, and sexual penetration with a minor, according to police.
Police said detectives learned through an investigation that Watson has had contact with potentially dozens of other victims. He allegedly posed as a 16- or 17-year-old on Snapchat, “asking for photos and looking to meet with potential victims,” police said.
“We are extremely concerned that there are others who may have been victimized by Watson,” police said.
