Join the Rockin’ Rebuilders at Uplift Family Services Saturday!
The Rockin’ Rebuilders are halfway there — let’s pull together to help them cross the finish line!
“What an incredible team! Even the 94o weather couldn’t slow this group of 15 dedicated, energized volunteers from really rocking it,” says Rebecca Jepsen, sponsor of Rebuilding Day 2020 at Uplift Family Services’ Gish Road Campus in San Jose.
On Oct. 17 they built 112 feet of fence in order to create outdoor therapy rooms so that Uplift therapists can continue to safely help their patients — children and teens — who have been abused, abandoned or have mental health issues. The Rebuilders also did some much-needed trimming, pruning, weeding and power washing at the site as well. Rebuilding Together Silicon Valley is a wonderful nonprofit organization that has been around for nearly 30 years. They help our most vulnerable neighbors — mostly elderly, disabled, low income — with necessary repairs and improvements that help them safely stay and age in their homes. They also, as with Rebecca’s Rockin’ Rebuilders, sometimes help out other critical nonprofits such as Uplift. to beautify the space.
Due to COVID-19, the project only got the green light a few weeks ago. The goal is to raise $10,000 and they are just about halfway there. We know it is hard for everyone at this time, but your help now can provide these young people with a foundation that will serve them throughout their lives.
