After vote count, let’s remember commonality
At the end of the day, literally and figuratively, let’s remember we all voted because we are all Americans — for the same country, under the same flag.
Tomorrow, we will continue buying, selling, calling, shopping — connecting with each other.
Let’s do so with the same level of class and decency, humanity and statesmanship that we wish to see in our leaders. We set the bar for ourselves.
Being raised in diplomatic circles, I grew up watching people disagree for hours over dinner — and then laugh it all off with a brandy afterward. Our country needs a collective brandy tonight.
I toast to friendship and understanding.
What might you toast to?
