Master planning at its best at River Islands in Lathrop
February is a big month at River Islands, with three more neighborhoods opening for showings, all by appointment only. Sunset by Pulte Homes, Veranda by Van Daele Homes and Catalina II by Kiper Homes are offering great locations and myriad approaches to architectural innovation.
Sunset, now in its preview showing at Pulte’s Daybreak neighborhood, offers four different plans, all two-story designs, with three to six bedrooms and up to 3,177 square feet.
Veranda marks Van Daele’s return to lakeside living, with three plans and four to six bedrooms.
Options include guest suites and exercise rooms, in homes up to 3,775 square feet. One plan is a single-story design.
Catalina II is an extension of Kiper Homes’ best-selling Catalina neighborhood, with three plans offering three to five bedrooms in two-story designs.
All of the new-home neighborhoods at River Islands are being offered in collections, named for their proximity to the many amenities offered by the 5,000-acre site. Sunset and Catalina II are part of the Academy Collection and Veranda is the newest addition to the Lakeside Collection. As the year progresses, new neighborhoods will be offered in these collections as well as in the Parkside Collection and the Trailside Collection.
River Islands will be adding an all-new K-8 charter school — its third — in the community. Thanks to voter turnout in favor
of creating an expanded Banta Unified School District, plans are now underway for a high school within River Islands.
An enormous 15-acre park has been designed along River Islands Parkway, just past Dell’Osso Drive. This park will contain fields for neighborhood sports, picnic areas, play areas and parking.
Construction will start this year.
The homes at River Islands are as diverse as the vision of their builders. They range in size from a 1,447-square-foot plan with three bedrooms all the way up to a six-bedroom home with 3,948 square feet of living space. Many of the homes are built in twostory configurations, but several builders also offer single-story homes or homes with a master suite downstairs. River Islands has attracted a variety of residents, from first-time buyers and young families to mature families to retirees. The result is that every neighborhood is a mixture of age ranges and household sizes. Prices vary from the mid$400,000 range to over $600,000.
The best place to start a tour of River Islands is online, at www.River Islands.com. Due to state health guidelines, there
are no walk-in tours at this time. The River Islands website has a sorting tool that allows prospective homebuyers to create their own virtual model tour based on the size of home, bedroom count and the number of stories. A free mobile app with information on all of the models is available online for download by texting the word RIMobile and the numbers 797979.
