March music: Harry Connick Jr., First Aid Kit, CeCe Winans, Rob Zombie and more

Here are five new releases that you should make time to hear in March.

“Alone With My Faith”: Talk about a true solo record. Harry Connick Jr. sang every note, played every instrument, and did all the arrangemen­ts on this forthcomin­g collection of songs addressing faith. The album, due out on March 19, features such favorites as “The Old Rugged Cross” and “How Great Thou Art.” The first video from the album — featuring a tremendous version of “Amazing Grace” — was directed by the multitalen­ted musician’s daughter Georgia Connick. “Who By Fire”: First Aid Kit — the Swedish folk act consisting of sisters Johann a and KlaraSö der berg—has always done great covers, ranging from Black Sabbath’s “War Pigs” to Patti Smith’s “Dancing Barefoot.” So, we’re really looking forward to hearing the duo’s live set of Leonard Cohen gems, which is due out on March 26. “Believe for It ”: Gram my-winning, multi millionsel­ling gospel star Ce Ce Win ans returns with a new live album on Friday. It follows such chart-topping solo efforts as 2005’s “Purified” and 2008’s “Thy Kingdom Come.” Of course, the vocalist is also well known for her work with brother BeBe Winans. Go to cecewinans.com.

“The Lunar Injection Kool Aid Eclipse Conspiracy”: Heavy metal hero Rob Zombie — who has also directed such acclaimed horror films as “House of 1000 Corpses,” “The Devil’s Rejects” and the 2007 “Halloween” remake — releases his seventh studio album on Friday. The set features such cheery sounding singalongs as “The Eternal Struggles of the Howling Man.” Go to robzombie.com.

“Duets”: Sting fans might want to check out this collection, featuring the chief of Police collaborat­ing with such artists as Mary J. Blige, Herbie Hancock, Eric Clapton, Annie Lennox, Charles Aznavour, Mylène Farmer, Shaggy, Melody Gardot and Gashi. Go to sting.com.
