A’s vs. Twins game today postponed because of COVID-19 A’s edge Tigers for their 8th straight win before a forced pause
The first of three games between the A’s and Minnesota Twins scheduled for today at the Coliseum was postponed after multiple members of the Twins organization tested positive for COVID-19, A’s manager Bob Melvin said Sunday.
It is unclear when the game will be made up, although A’s officials said a doubleheader on Tuesday is a possibility if the Twins are cleared to return to play.
Twins manager Rocco Baldelli said Saturday that two players and one Twins staff member had tested positive since the team arrived in Anaheim for a three-game series against the Angels. The Twins only played one of those games due to the development.

The A’s offense had flowed like a river ever since its win streak began on April 9. It moved with power, bursting through opponents and dousing them with 28 unanswered runs in a sevengame stretch.
On Sunday, though, the river seemed to hit a dam and the A’s managed just a single run on two hits through the first seven innings against the Detroit Tigers.
It wasn’t until the bottom of the eighth inning that Oakland got back into its flow and continued its winning ways. Catcher Sean Murphy led the inning off with a home run to center field, tying the score at 2. An inning later, Mitch Moreland again delivered a walk-off blow as the A’s rallied for a 3-2 victory at the Coliseum. The win was the A’s eighth in a row and ninth in 10 games following an 0-6 start to the season.
