One arrested in Mountain View shooting that injured two people
MOUNTAIN VIEW >> A 23-year-old East Palo Alto man has been arrested in connection with a shooting in Mountain View that left two teenagers injured, police said.
Detectives on Wednesday arrested the suspect at a Valero gas station at California Avenue and San Antonio Road, the Mountain View Police Department said in a news release.
Police said a loaded gun was found in the suspect’s car. It will be tested to see if it matches the weapon used in the shooting.
The shooting was reported about 8:30 p.m.
April 9 on El Camino Real, near Castro Street. Officers did not find any victims when they arrived at the scene, but they soon received word two male teenagers had arrived at a hospital with gunshot wounds.
One victim was shot several times in the upper body and the other was shot once in the upper body. Both are expected to make a full recovery, according to police.
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, shooting into an occupied vehicle, possession of a loaded firearm and possession of a concealed firearm.
Following the arrest, authorities searched the suspect’s home in the 2500 block of Baylor Street in East Palo Alto and found three other guns, including an AR-15 rifle and a loaded ghost gun, police said. Authorities are working to determine who owns the firearms and if they were legally purchased. The ghost gun, however, will not be traceable.

Alto man police said they believed to be in possession of the ghost gun also was arrested on suspicion of possession of a concealed firearm, possession of a loaded firearm, possession of a non-serialized firearm and resisting arrest.
