CHP investigating fatal crash in Gilroy

A person died Monday in what the California Highway Patrol said was a onevehicle crash in the South Bay.

Few details of the wreck were available immediately, but the CHP said the driver of a truck went into a pole at No Name Uno and Masten Avenue in Gilroy. The crash first was reported at about 11:50 a.m.

According to the CHP, the crash brought down a pole and a stop sign.

As of Monday afternoon, the driver’s name had not released by the Santa Clara coroner’s office.
