Person hit, killed by train in Palo Alto

PALO ALTO >> A person was hit and killed by a Caltrain late Monday night in Palo Alto, authorities said.

Caltrain reported the southbound train #192 hit the person at 10:20 a.m. on the tracks near the Alma Avenue crossing and later said the person died.

At 12:03 A.M., Caltrain tweeted that service had resumed on the line.

As of Monday afternoon the person’s name was not released, according to the Santa Clara coroner’s office.
