5th Annual Phil Wells Golf Outing: Sept. 13 at Moraga Country Club. 12 p.m. shotgun start, cocktails and dinner to follow. $300 per golfer, includes lunch, welcome gift, prizes, dinner and silent auction. Hope 100 Golf Marathon: Sept. 13 at Castlewood Country Club in Pleasanton. Event starts at 6 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m. $2,500 per golfer (golfing in twosomes), includes: green fees, cart (one per golfer), three meals, hosted bar, swag, contests and prizes (including 75k hole-inone challenge). Golfer’s can register as an individual and attempt the 100 holes in one day in their own, or split the challenge among friends. The event has a quick pace, just drop your ball and play. Most people complete 18 holes every two hours. Although score is not of primary importance, prizes are awarded related to scores. Event proceeds benefit Hope Hospice’s patient care and community programs, including free grief support and education for family caregivers. Canine Companions Putting for Pups Golf Classic: Sept. 17 at Cinnabar Hills Golf Club in San Jose. Best ball scramble format with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. $275 per golfer includes golf, range balls, cocktails, lunch, dinner, welcome gifts, multiple contests, and silent auction. Golfer’s will be met by a canine companion at every hole. Proceeds to benefit Canine Companions, a non-profit organization that provides carefully bred and expertly trained service dogs to children, adults, and veterans with disabilities free of charge. Father Berris Golf Classic: Sept. 20 at Silver Creek Valley Country Club in San Jose. Event starts at 10 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 11:45 a.m. $190 per golfer, $720 per foursome: includes cart, lunch, on-course refreshments, dinner, prizes and tee gift. Revenue from the tournament provides scholarships to seminarians and programs benefiting youth at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church.
