Series history: Stanford has won 12 of the last 13 meetings and is 43-46-3 overall. Stanford beat UCLA 48-47 in double overtime last year, while the Bruins won the last meeting on The Farm in 2019. Storylines: Both teams are rolling on offense. UCLA has scored at least 37 points in all three games this season and five straight overall, their longest streak since 1998, while Stanford scored 40 points in back-to-back games for the first time since 2008. … This will be the first home game for Stanford since Nov. 14, 2020. Every other Pac-12 team has played at least three home games since then. … UCLA was ranked 16th after beating LSU, but fell to 24th after a last-minute loss to Fresno State last Saturday. Stanford is 1-0 against ranked teams after beating then-No. 14 USC.

Matchup to watch: Nathaniel Peat vs. UCLA front seven. Peat is the only scholarshi­p running back who will be active on Saturday. He has 14 carries for 169 yards this season, an average of 12.1 yards a carry, but UCLA leads the Pac-12 in rushing defense.

Injuries/Absences: Three expected starters will be out for undisclose­d reasons for Stanford -- RB Austin Jones, TE Benjamin Yurosek and S Noah Williams. Two other projected starters, CB Ethan Bonner and CB Zahran Manley, are doubtful to play because of injuries. Backup RB E.J. Smith and punt returner Casey Filkins will also miss Saturday’s game.

Stats that matter: UCLA dual-threat QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson leads the Pac-12 with seven pass TD and is tied for 2nd in the FBS with five passes of 40+ yards. … UCLA RB Zach Charbonnet is fifth in the FBS with six rushing TDs. … Stanford QB Tanner McKee is 2-0 as a starter and has accounted for six TDs (four passing, two rushing). … The Cardinal have played one home game in 665 days.
