Oesterle’s overtime goal lifts Red Wings to win over Ducks

Jordan Oesterle scored 2:11 into overtime as the Detroit Red Wings beat the Anaheim Ducks 2-1 on Monday night.

Dylan Larkin had a game and an assist to help Detroit win for the second time in six games. Alex Nedeljkovi­c, starting for the 10th time in 11 games, had 14 saves.

Rickard Rakell scored for Anaheim, and John Gibson finished with 26 saves. The Ducks snapped a two-game win streak.

In the extra period, Oesterle one-timed a feed off a faceoff from Larkin for his first goal with the Red Wings.

The Red Wings appeared to have broken a 1-1 tie late in the third period, but Filip Hronek was denied a goal when the referees determined he had kicked the puck into the goal past Gibson.

Larkin scored his teamleadin­g 23rd goal of the season late in the first period, and Rakell tied it with his 10th of the season early in the second.

CANUCKS 3, BLACKHAWKS 1 >> Jaroslav Halak made 20 saves, Brock Boeser scored and Vancouver won at Chicago.

Alex Chiasson and Luke Schenn also scored for Vancouver, which had dropped four of five. The Canucks managed just 15 shots on goal in a 1-0 overtime loss at Calgary on Saturday night.

Connor Murphy scored for the Blackhawks, and Marc-Andre Fleury made 29 stops.

Chicago lost for the sixth time in seven games. It dropped to 5-7-5 in its last 17 games overall.

PANTHERS 8, BLUE JACKETS 4 >>

Sam Reinhart had his fifth career hat trick to lift Florida over host Columbus for its fourth straight win.

Mason Marchment had two goals and four assists for a career-high six points to help Florida secure the top spot in the NHL standings heading into the All-Star break. Aleksander Barkov, Owen Tippett and MacKenzie Weegar also scored, and Reinhart added an assist. MAPLE LEAFS 6, DEVILS 4 >> Auston Matthews had three goals and an assist, and Toronto scored four times in the third period to rally past New Jersey.

Mitch Marner had a goal and two assists, Ilya Mikheyev had a goal and an assist, and Jason Spezza also scored to help the Maple Leafs win their fourth straight.

SENATORS 3, OILERS 2 >> Tim Stutzle scored in overtime to lift Ottawa to a victory over visiting Edmonton.
