Kaprizov leads Wild over Bruins with pair of goals

-

Kirill Kaprizov scored twice and Jordan Greenway broke a third-period tie as the Minnesota Wild held on for a 4-2 victory over the Boston Bruins on Wednesday night.

Ryan Hartman added an empty-netter, his 24th goal of the season, with 4.9 seconds remaining to seal the win.

After Minnesota had a few good looks on net during a shift from its third line, Greenway beat a sprawling Jeremy Swayman from the slot at the 7:56 mark of the third. It was Greenway's sixth goal of the season and second in two games.

Greenway's goal came after Boston climbed back from a 2-0 deficit following a pair of goals by Kaprizov. Craig Smith put the Bruins on the board late in the first period, and Brad Marchand's power-play goal evened the score in the second. BLUE JACKETS 4, SENATORS 1 >> Jack Roslovic scored twice, Elvis Merzlikins stopped 30 shots, and Columbus beat Ottawa to extend its winning streak to three games.

Eric Robinson and Sean Kuraly, with an empty-net goal, also scored for Columbus.

Tyler Ennis scored the lone goal for the Senators, while Anton Forsberg made 32 saves. The Senators have lost three straight and are 1-3-0 through the first four games of their five-game homestand.

PANTHERS DEAL FOR DEFENSEMAN CHIAROT >> The Panthers landed one of the most coveted players on the trade market Wednesday, acquiring defenseman Ben Chiarot from the Canadiens for Tyler Smilanic and two draft picks.

It was the second deal of the day for the Panthers, who cleared out about $2.5 million in cap room earlier when they shipped forward Frank Vatrano to the Rangers for a fourth-round draft pick.

The 30-year-old Chiarot has seven goals and 11 assists this season, averaging nearly 24 minutes of ice time per contest.

FLAMES ADD FORWARD JARNKROK >> The Kraken started their pre-trade deadline firesale by sending forward Calle Jarnkrok to the Flames for three draft picks.

Jarnkrok has 26 points in 49 games this season.

Seattle also is expected to trade captain Mark Giordano and forwards Marcus Johansson and Riley Sheahan before the deadline Monday. Giordano was held out of the lineup for Wednesday's game to prevent him from getting injured.
