QIs there a plan to smooth out the railway crossing on Montague Expressway between Oakland Road and Trade Zone Boulevard? Every time

I drive on it, I get a big jolt. I am afraid that one day my tires will be sheared by the sharp edges of rising asphalt.

AGet ready for serious pavement upgrades, and more, on Montague Expressway. Work begins Thursday and will last through August between Interstate 880 and East Trimble Road in Milpitas and North San Jose.

Two of the three lanes in each direction will be impacted, with lane closures in both directions. To minimize the impact, crews will work in the offpeak direction and during nights, whenever possible.

Once completed, there will be improved drainage, new signage, new vehicle and bicycle detector loops, and pedestrian improvements of sidewalks and curb ramps, ADA-compliant sensors and touchless pedestrian crosswalk buttons.

Traffic signals will also

Abe upgraded on this busy Santa Clara County expressway.

What is the procedure for renewing a senior driver's license? Can it be renewed by mail or must one go into the DMV? I am 84. — Adeline Rossi, Gilroy

Yes, you can renew by mail. You can also renew in person or online.

If you want to renew online and do not already have an online account, you need to create one. You cannot renew online if you want to change your name, address, or gender identity on your driver's license. These must be done prior to renewing online. You can update your address online, and should do so at least five days prior to renewing your driver's license online. Name or gender identity changes must be processed at a DMV field office.

All DMV credit/debit card transactions include an additional 2.1% payment processing fee. If you pay directly from your bank account, there are no additional fees.

Here's a simple solution to catalytic converter theft. Attach a motion sensor under the car attached to a truck horn with an on/off switch to activate it while parked. Everyone in the world will know someone is under your vehicle.

AThanks

for the tip.

QI have lived on the eastside in San Jose for over 50 years. On backroads between McKee Road and the Evergreen Village, stop signs at many intersections seem to have little or no meaning. Drivers disregard these signs, driving through them and stopping or slowing only when necessary. We need traffic control before a serious accident occurs.

I'll have more on this problem in the near future.
