The Bottom Line: What is a F-Pace? An F-Pace is a compact luxury crossover SUV made by Jaguar Land Rover, a British car manufacturer, and sold under their Jaguar marque. It is the first model to be built by Jaguar in the SUV class. The F-Pace is based on Jaguar’s AL platform that also underpins the XE and XF saloons. This helps the F-Pace feel sporty to drive, cool to look at, and with the flare of being a Jaguar SUV.

Strikingly styled and perfectly posh, the 2022 Jaguar F-Pace SVR stands out in its class of compact luxury SUVs for its beauty. This group has 13 vehicles to choose from, and the Jaguar F-Pace is the best looking one of the bunch. With it’s XKE inspired looks, to it’s rakish rear body panels, you know at first glance that this SUV is different.

And what does SVR stand for on a Jag? The SVR edition, meaning Special Vehicle Ratings, encompasses the very best of the best with sportier performance, bolder style, and even more luxury than ever before. The Jaguar F-Pace SVR is one of the most exciting SUVs you can buy, thanks to its supercharged V8 engine. It’s just become better for 2022, with a vastly improved cabin, a more comfortable ride, and more horsepower.

This week Jaguar sent me a 2022 F-Pace SVR V8 SUV with a base window sticker price of $84,600 to test drive and review. The options on the test SUV are: the hot climate package for $2,110, the ultra metallic paint with a gloss finish for $4,550, the 22” split spoke black and satin grey alloy wheels for $1,200, the Oyster leather seats for $1,150, the head up display for $1,010, the Meridan surround sound system for $800, the gloss black roof rails for $360, the rear privacy glass for $200, the adaptive surface response system for $150, and a set of additional power sockets for $99.

The total MSRP manufactures suggested retail price, including the $1,150 destination charge, is $97,379. After adding in the state and local sales tax, plus the DMV and dealer fees, the total out the door and in your garage purchase price came to: $109,551. At $110 Grand the Jaguar F-Pace is priced near the top of the luxury compact crossover class.

So, what do get for your hard earned cash, or 36 easy lease payments? To start with the F-pace SVR has a 5.0L liter V8 Supercharged gas engine with 550 HP horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. The engine is bolted to an 8 speed automatic transmission with steering wheel mounted gear shift paddles, and is routed into an AWD traction system, with Jaguar drive control and selectable driving modes.

The SVR package adds electric power steering, all surface progress control, upgraded brakes with painted calipers, an electronic active differential with torque vectoring, and adaptive and configurable dynamic suspension controls. Think ultimate power, braking, handling and steering control, all rolled into one very fast & sexy looking Jaguar SUV.

Driving the Jaguar F-Pace SVR SUV makes your every day grocery getter trip an exciting one. With 550 HP on tap, plus the supercharger, there is zero lag in acceleration. You put your foot down and this SUV rockets to 60 MPH in less than 4 seconds, and goes to a top speed of 178 mph. To get to that speed safely Jaguar put on a set of 22” alloy wheels with Pirelli P Zero tires, now good for up to 230 mph. The Pirelli’s P Zero was developed initially in 1987 for the Ferrari F40, and it has gone on to become the best known high speed tire model in the world.

Ultimate power needs ultimate comfort and the F-Pace has: leather interior, a Meridian sound system with a 400 watt amplifier, power sunroof with power shade, folding heated side view mirrors, heated and cooled power front seats, a leather covered power adjustable and heated steering wheel, luxury carpeted floor mats with metal tread plates, two zone climate control, an auto dimming rear view mirror, keyless entry with push button start, a 11.4” touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and SiriusXM HD Radio, a wireless charging pad, plus 25 more premium SVR edition options.

When you’re ready to buy a new compact luxury SUV the Jaguar F-Pace should be on your ride and drive list, as it is one of the best looking, and most powerful SUV’s in it’s class. Call, click or visit your local Jaguar dealer for a test drive, and a Bottom Line price review, on the 2022 F-Pace SUV. And remember that the base price for a new F-Pace starts at only $50,900.
