Tatum's 41 points get Celtics past Hornets

Jayson Tatum scored 41 points and Derrick White set new career highs with 33 points and eight 3-pointers to help the host Boston Celtics hold off the Charlotte Hornets 127-116 on Friday night.

Tatum began the fourth quarter on the bench but was reinserted after Charlotte cut Boston's lead to 14 points with 7:03 to play. The Hornets trailed by 28 in the third quarter before closing period on 15-3 run.

Terry Rozier led Charlotte with 27 points. LaMelo Ball added 24 points and 10 assists. The Hornets have lost their last six games. 76ERS 119, KNICKS 108 >> Tyrese Maxey provided a huge boost off the bench, scoring 27 points to help host Philadelph­ia rally from a 13-point deficit.

Joel Embiid had 35 points and 11 rebounds to help the Sixers gain a measure of revenge for a loss in New York on Sunday night when Philadelph­ia reinquishe­d a 21-point lead. Julius Randle and Jalen Brunson both scored 30 points for the Knicks.

JAZZ 122, RAPTORS 116 >> Lauri Markkanen and Will Kessler each scored 23 points, Collin Sexton had 22 and visiting Utah overcame a 12-point deficit in the final five minutes. Pascal Siakam scored 35 points, but Toronto couldn't extend its three-game winning streak. The Raptors have not won four straight at any point this season.

SUNS 117, PACERS 104 >> Deandre Ayton scored 22 points, Devin Booker had 21 and Chris Paul 19 to lead the visiting Suns. Ayton also had 11 rebounds; Paul had nine assists. Bennedict Mathurin led Indian with 22 points off the bench and Tyrese Haliburton scored 18.

PISTONS 138, SPURS 131 >> Bojan Bogdanovic scored 10 of his 32 points in overtime and host Detroit beat San Antonio in double overtime. San Antonio has lost 11 straight. The Spurs were led by Zach Collins' 29 points. BROWNS OWNERS AGAIN SEEK

NBA OWNERSHIP >> Cleveland Browns owners Dee and Jimmy Haslam are taking another shot at the NBA.

Looking to expand their profession­al sports portfolio outside of Ohio, the Haslams are in talks to buy a minority stake in the Milwaukee Bucks, a person familiar with the negotiatio­ns told The Associated Press on Friday.

The Haslams have explored buying other pro teams, including the Minnesota Timberwolv­es in the past.
