Los Gatos' luxury car dealership is gearing up for a major upgrade that would build more showrooms to attract even more luxury car makes.

Luxury Cars Los Gatos, which features makes like Lamborghini, Bentley, Aston Martin and Rolls Royce, unveiled its renovation plan at the July 12 planning commission meeting. The plans call for the 8,584-square-foot showroom on Blossom Hill Road to be bulldozed and replaced by a 6,395-squarefoot service center and a 6,103-square-foot showroom.

Luxury says more upscale car brands want to break into the Los Gatos market.

“We have two new brands that want to come to Los Gatos and be part of this dealership. We just want to build some small showrooms for them,” said Christian Oaks, an architect with TWM who designed the renovation project.

While the project would need a final stamp of approval from the town council, the planning commission voted unanimously in favor of the design. Commissioners said the plan would fit the small-town feel of Los Gatos.

The dealership sits on property at 620 Blossom Hill Road that was purchased last year by Sand Hill Property, acting through an affiliate, for $13.2 million. The group also purchased the nearby Acura dealership at 16151 Los Gatos Blvd. for $11.3 million.

Luxury's construction plans come after the Los Gatos Lamborghini dealership reopened last summer after undergoing a major 10-month renovation project. The new, sleek look of the dealership was meant to reflect Lamborghini's new identity and support its new fleet of plug-in hybrid vehicles to be released in 2023 and 2024.
