People who move to The Lodge at Glen Cove choose a lifestyle of activities to fill the soul, just a short stroll from the waterfront Glen Cove Marina.

Here, community members get the active and independent living they crave. They and their loved ones also gain peace of mind from healthy living amenities and tiered support programs, says Colleen Berumen, director of residential development for The Lodge.

Of the 141, twobedroom, one-bedroom and studio floor plans at The Lodge, 101 are dedicated to independent living or assisted living. The remaining 40 units are available to persons that are in need of memory care services.

Activity and engagement are central to life at The Lodge.

“With all the activities we have, it’s like a cruise ship on land!” says Berumen. “Each resident has opportunities to get fully engaged in activities, dining, social events, exercise and other enrichment,” says Berumen.

“Our restaurantstyle dining experience gets rave reviews for its eclectic menu,” says Berumen.

“We serve breakfast, lunch and dinner daily with specials for lunch and dinner every day.”

Each item on the wide-ranging menu is prepared to order. Offerings include all the basics plus every type of meat and fish plus vegetarian and special diet options.

“And everyone here gets to know and love our activities director. She keeps them informed and makes sure they’re as involved as they can or want to be.”

The calendar of activities and events includes daily exercise programs such as dancing, boxing, resistance band strength training, yoga class and outdoor walks.

“Staff members attend the daily walk down to the Glen Cove Marina and back,” says Berumen. “Depending on the group, they’ll sometimes walk up the hill. And oftentimes, people’s guests or family members come along as well.”

Scheduled excursions that extend beyond the campus of The Lodge feature trips to local casinos, parks, museums and restaurants. Within walking distance or a short drive, residents enjoy parks, shopping and local dining. Residents and families also feel assured by having several state-of-theart hospitals within 10 miles.

Meanwhile, for routine wellness, The Lodge has an onsite exam room for basic dental, medical and personal massage appointments. There’s even a professional salon onsite. People can take advantage of scheduled transportation for offsite shopping, medical appointments and other outings.

Other daily activities include resident-led bingo, poker and happy hour events. Every other week, the staff leads café craft activities including jewelry making, wreath making, watercolor painting and more. And an onsite library has periodicals and other materials for researching and exploring personal areas of interest.

The Lodge at Glen Cove is dotted with several community lounge and recreations areas for residents and guests to gather, relax, read, watch movies, play games and socialize. Residents particularly enjoy the calendar of events that is regularly posted for them to sign up and join in.

Serenely insulated yet just minutes from all of life’s necessities, the picturesque California Delta setting of The Lodge evokes tranquility. From thoughtful staff members and stunning views to friendly residents and activities that generate happiness, The Lodge is a welcoming place to live and to visit.
