Happy Hollow Park & Zoo

-

A favorite of Bay Area families for generations, Happy Hollow Park & Zoo has been connecting people to nature through play since 1961. A mixture of zoo, park and playground areas, rides, and entertainment, there is something for everyone to enjoy! Children and adults alike can delight at the opportunity for close-up views of lemurs, jaguars, giant anteaters and more, and visit Double-H Ranch for the chance to brush Happy Hollow’s goats and meet other barnyard animals. Even the rides provide something for all ages. Little ones will squeal with delight while riding Granny Bugs and Mini Putt-Putt, older kids will enjoy the Pacific Fruit Express roller coaster, and everyone loves the iconic Danny the Dragon train ride. As part of the City of San José’s Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services department, Happy Hollow offers educational programs for nature and animal lovers of all ages - toddlers to seniors. And Happy Hollow doesn’t just talk the talk, they walk the walk. Conservation and sustainability are at the heart of all programs, exhibits, activities and operations, including LEED-certified buildings, conservation grant programs, and sourcing of sustainable seafood and produce for the animals to eat. Even the on-site restaurant, The Picnic Basket, focuses on quality, quick-service and environmentally friendly food choices that are locally and sustainably sourced and antibiotic-free. Happy Hollow Park &

Zoo is a great place to visit the animals, ride the rides, watch a puppet show, spend some time in nature, and learn something new.
