A tasty January set for Phoenixville
Good Samaritan Shelter will be holding its 11th annual A Taste of Phoenixville on Saturday, Jan. 17 from 6 to 10 p.m. The event will be held at the Phoenixville Foundry building. Proceeds from the evening will benefit Good Samaritan Shelter.
The evening’s activities will include all-you-can-eat food and drink donated by several local restaurants, as well as auctions, live music and dancing.
Event organizer Carole Frederick said, “This event is such a wonderful community effort in that so many local businesses and restaurants and volunteers come together to make it a big success.”
Frederick said the evening is the biggest fundraiser for Good Samaritan Shelter. Many local restaurants will be participating.
“This year more than 30 restaurants will be providing hors d’eouvres, mini entrees, side dishes, desserts, wine, beer and coc- tails, completely at their expense,” said Frederick.
According to their website, Good Samaritan Shelter is a nonprofit organization that provides transitional housing and supportive services to homeless men, women and children.
Good Samaritan Shelter executive director Nate Hoffer said the shelter helps people experiencing homelessness rebuild their lives and restore hope and dignity.
Good Samaritan owns four homes in the Phoenixville area that serve as the men’s shelter. The women’s and children’s facility is located in Ephrata. All proceeds from the evening will go to the shelter.
Tickets will be sold at the door and are available at www.tasteofphoenixville.com.
